| What We Do

Assessment and Review This is the most important part of the process. There are many reasons why children can have a problem with a subject and the first step is for us to talk to both parent and child to make sure we all understand properly what the problem is. We can then move from here to looking at the current performance in the subject and where that is in relation to the curriculum, age of the child and forthcoming examinations if appropriate. This gives us a measure of the gap, and also a timescale to meet should an examination be looming. These two together will enable us to provide the 'fix' for the problem and accelerate learning to recover the lost ground in time to meet any relevant deadline. From here the tailored programme can be drawn up which will identify what we need to cover, over how many weeks, which we can then discuss with the parents. It's important that the programme is comprehensive enough to meet the needs of the assessment and the child, as well as being as cost-effective as possible whilst still delivering the objective. We will not extend tutoring unnecessarily, and neither will we offer a solution that is cost driven which will not achieve the intended result. During the course of the programme, we will review progress with the parents and if progress is quicker than expected, we will be happy to reduce the tutoring and if slower, we can recommend other steps to put that right. We keep you informed all the way through continual review. |
